Fire Prayer

Homage to the New Mexican Chile. Here in New Mexico a simple wall decoration can conjure powerful emotions, and memories. Growing up I would cry in physical pain as I would eat, but always wanting more. Peeling hundreds of pounds of Green Chile, taking hours and hours. With family, and friends sharing in the pain as the heat would permeate into our bones. Driving for 100s of miles in search of the perfect marriage of heat, flavour and meat. Countless hours spent tending rows of Chile, saving seeds and cross pollinating. Having heated arguments about what region produced the best chile. All for a short feeling of immense euphoria caused by pain.... Just like painting.
